Nigerian Wonders of Nature




Nigeria is an amazing country which has many natural wonders, historical and cultural reasons to visit. But, it delivers on the wild side with variety of wonders of nature that must be experienced on any visit to a certain country. Nigeria has artistic and cultural heritages unsurpassed by sub-Sahara Africa, Traditional dancing and singing usually are the important Nigerian culture, particularly in the south.

Ikogosi Warms Springs
Try to visit the Ikogosi Warms Springs, Ekiti: you have to seriously believe and be amazed with the warm spring of Ekiti. Erin Ijesha Water Falls are one of destination to be considered. This may sound as panoramic as the Niagara or the Lake Victoria, but this is found in the jungle without any source of this great river; this is a sight to behold and a must see.
Badagry Beach and Slave Resorts

Badagry Beach and Slave Resorts are relaxing beaches you can find along Nigeria. These beaches are refreshingly familiar at least until you go reach the grim end with no return where slaves departed coast of Lagos.

Visit the nice Alpha and Lekki Beaches. If you have enough time you can also go to Lagos Marin go at night, you can get a jet ski or go surf these are the best thing ever. Not just that you will be at a nice beach, you will also enjoy the man made facilities that they offer.
Mambilla Plateau

Obudu Plateau
Obudu Plateau is considered as a montane grassland plateau found at Oshie Ridge of Sankwala Mountain range, in the Cross River state,south east of Nigeria. This plateau is found in the Obanliku local government area on the Cross river state. The plateau extends along the borders of Nigeria’s south eastern.

Sankwala Mountain Ranges
The Sankwala mountain ranges first explored by McCaughley in 1949, a Scottish rancher who had camped out in the mountains for one month, before returning together with Hugh Jones – a fellow rancher in 1951, together with Crawfeild they developed a cattle ranch on plateau which is known as the Obudu Cattle Ranch. Although the ranch was been through with troubles since, it has recently been rehabilitated to former glory by those Protea South African Hotel chain.
The Obudu Plateau spreads over an area of 40 square miles or 100 km2 which rises to about 5,200 ft or 1,584 M above the level of the sea. The plateau is considered to be as a giant massif in its right and its peak reaches about 1,716 M (5,630 ft) above the level of the sea. The plateau is also known to be a habitat of those rare bird’s species.

Niger River
The major physiographic feature of Nigeria is the Niger River. With its principal tributes, the Benue River shows a giant Y dividing Nigeria to three regions. The highest point considered is the Mount Dimlag which is 2,042 meters or 6,700 in feet this is near the borders with Cameroon, the principal physical region are coastal plains and the Niger delta located at the south, the Oyo-Yoruba upland in the southwest, the Udi plateau located at the southeast and the Adamawa highlands which is along the eastern border, the Niger Benue lowland, the high plains of Hausaland with Jos plateau super imposed, and the Chad basin in the extremes of northeast.

Which of the surface do consists of Precambrian rocks, which are already more than 600 million years. Many areas overlain with younger sedimentary or with volcanic rocks; recently it deposits materials that are made up by the coastline and Niger Delta. Along the coast, swampy soils are found. Inland there are well drained, excessively leached soils that are low in organic materials. The father inland, rainfall and the leaching is diminishing. In the north are sandy soils formed from materials blown in from Sahara.
