He said the ongoing conference is important for enabling the Third World people and those of the Muslim world, who are victims of the long years of colonial suppression.
“We are victims of Zionism and unfair economic order.”
“Publication can be used for good and can be used for bad. This conference represents an effort, led by publishers of Iran. That is the value of this conference.”
Asked about copyright, he said that’s an important issue, which is unfortunately repeatedly violated.
He said Muslim and Third World states should get together to draw up a copyright law.
Elsewhere in the interview, he said one of the major problems of publishers in the Islamic world, the Third World in general, is the fact that they do not get together.
This conference should think of ways to provide businesses with enough financial resources and facilities, he added.
Another important issue is the equipment, he said, adding that it means the kind of equipment that publishers need.
The use of electronics, e-mailing, is very important but governments address all the problems, he said, adding that the major problem is anti-Islam hysteria in the west.
