Senegalese Foreign Minister, Madicke Niang in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki said the presence of the Senegalese high ranking officials in Iran during the current sensitive situation shows the nation's solidarity with Iranians.
"In order to show a meaningful and symbolic presence, we sent our powerful politico-economic delegation to Iran. This shows the Senegalese leadership's will for expansion of bilateral ties more than before," Niang added.
Stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has many friends in the world including Senegal, the Foreign Minister rejected the west's illegal pressures against Iran.
He also highlighted Tehran Trilateral Declaration for fuel swap and said that it could be a fair approach in negotiations with other sides.
"The ties between Iran and Senegal should expand further in regional cooperation and Senegal is eager for all-out expansion of ties with Iran," he concluded.
IRI Foreign Minister for his part hoped that the fourth joint economic meeting between the two countries could boost the interests of the two nations.
The fourth IRI-Senegal commission will be held in Tehran, capital of Iran.
