Majlis delegation to join peace flotilla

Tehran, June 2, IRNA – A delegation comprising four Majlis deputies is to join the peace flotilla which has been attacked by Israeli forces on Monday, it was announced here on Wednesday.

Mahmoud Ahmadi Bighash, a member of the Secretariat of the Conference on Support for the Palestinian Intifadah, told IRNA that Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has agreed with the dispatch of the delegation for joining the Gaza aid convoy.
He added that the delegation will comprise four members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Majlis.
The MP further announced that the delegation will be dispatched to the region in coordination with Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
According to media reports, early Monday morning in international waters, Israeli forces intercepted and took control of the six-ship aid convoy, which was carrying 10,000 tons of aid and hundreds of activists from several countries. At least 10 people were killed in the serious violence on one or more of the vessels.
The six-ship flotilla had 682 passengers from 42 countries.
Across the world, tens of thousands of people protested on the streets and several countries summoned Israel’s ambassadors.
The international community has called for an impartial inquiry into the Israeli assault.
