Tehran, May 2, IRNA – First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said on Sunday that Tehran attaches great importance to expansion of ties with African, Latin American and Asian countries.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Guinea's Foreign Minister Bakary Fofana.

Africa enjoys a special priority in the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy, he said.

Referring to the latest developments in Guinea, the Iranian VP said Tehran supports the stands taken by the new government in that country.

Underlining the need for further expansion of all-out ties between the two states, he said Iran is ready to provide that African state with its useful experiences in the areas of industry, mines, agriculture and development.

He reiterated that the Arrogant powers are not interested in promotion of ties between Iran and Guinea and are attempting to damage the existing amicable ties between Iran and its friendly countries.

For his part, Fofana appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strategic stands, saying his country is in need of assistance from its friendly countries.

He said his country welcomes investment of Iranian companies in its development projects and called for further expansion of economic ties between the two sides.
