Referring to Iran-Indonesia cooperation on the international scene, Velayati also said that Indonesia's opposition to the UN resolution regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy indicates deep relations between the two states.
Indonesia as the biggest Muslim country plays a crucial role in the solidarity of the Muslim world, he said, noting that Indonesia in the east and Iran in the center of the Islamic world can play a crucial role in the advancement of Islamic goals.
Referring to the presence of Iranian mystics and merchants in Indonesia, he further noted that the hearts of the two Muslim nations are closer to each other.
Osman, for his part, said that Iran as a member of IAEA has the right to use peaceful nuclear energy.
He described dialogue as the only way to solve Iran’s nuclear issue and called on US President Barack Obama to adopt constructive and humane policies.
Iran enjoys a great civilization and Tehran-Jakarta cooperation will benefit both countries, he said.
