Tehran, April 10, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast on Saturday stressed that Tehran is trying to pave the way for global nuclear disarmament with the help of other independent states.

Talking to IRNA, he said that the Islamic Republic will open a new way for eradication of nuclear weapons from the entire globe.

Referring to the Fourth National Nuclear Festival held Friday, he said the country’s nuclear achievements unveiled during the ceremony were indications of the nation’s ability in the area of this sophisticated science.

Iran’s peaceful nuclear programs are in line with progress and development in civilian sectors such as industry, energy, agriculture and health, he said, adding that however, those countries possessing the knowledge try to monopolize the science to continue their hegemony.

He said those countries should refrain from exerting pressures on other states and instead prepare the ground for global disarmament and pursuance of peaceful nuclear energy by all nations.

Mehman-Parast further announced that Tehran is to host the international nuclear disarmament conference from April 17-18.
