Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is due in Libreville, Gabon, on Thursday after a visit to Algeria on an official invitation by the Gabonese counterpart, Paul Toungui.

“The visit is in response to Gabonese Foreign Minister’s prior Tehran visit,” Mottaki told IRNA correspondent before leaving Algeria for Gabon.

Mottaki further told IRNA that he is on a tour of Africa, which has taken him to Algeria for the first and Gabon in the next, to explore ways of expanding ties and cooperation with African states and exchange views with officials of the continent on the regional and international pertinent issues.

He said Gabon is a Security Council member and to this end, “We are willing to inform Gabon of Iran’s latest stances on the nuclear fuel swap formula.”
