Kuala Lumpur, March 29, IRNA – First Vice- Speaker of Iran’s Majlis Mohammad-Hassan Abutorabi-Fard said Monday Tehran will continue its programs to gain access to peaceful nuclear technology.
Abutorabi-Fard made the remark while addressing the 122nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Bangkok, Thailand.
He said Iran wanted nuclear fuel, for its research reactor, within the framework of the regulations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Despite pressures and threats to the country, the Islamic Republic of Iran insists on using peaceful nuclear energy, Abutorabi-Fard stressed.
Iran frankly demands nuclear disarmament in both world and the region, particularly in Israeli nuclear arsenal, he noted.
The vice-speaker also said Iran backs the rights of all world nations, Palestinias in particular, and urged the world of Islam as well as other world and Asian countries to fight Zionists.
The 122nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly opened in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 27 for six days.
