Paul the Psychic Octopus topped the search trends from Ghana in the month of July with Uruguay's striker Luis Suarez coming forth, according to internet giant Google.

"Paul the Psychic Octopus showed the extent of his power taking the first two entries, followed closely by Waptrick and Opera Mini, both exciting new apps to help you get online on your mobile phone,” a statement from Google read.

Google Ghana lead Estelle Akofio-Sowah said: “I was intrigued to see what Ghanaians are looking for online.

“This top ten list demonstrates once again that Ghanaians are not only tapped in to what’s going on all around the world, but are also tech-savvy, early adopters of new technologies. With so many more of us getting online every day, I look forward to many more insights from these polls.”

Google used Insights for Search, a tool that provides insights into global, regional, past and present search trends, for the polls.
