A man in Kwa Kwa village in Mbonge sub-division in the South West region of Cameroon has reportedly been roasted to death for allegedly killing his girlfriend Akwe Angeline Tenjoh.

Local newspaper, The Sun, quotes some villagers as saying the man, whose only name was given as Elias had impregnated the girl but neglected her and engaged himself with a housewife under the suspicion of Akwe.

Elias, the villagers are quoted as saying, was furious over the scandal raised by Akwe who accused him of having an affair with a married woman.

It was on this premise that Elias is alleged to have taken offense and went to the farm, met Akwe and butchered her into pieces before dumping her in a stream.

A frantic search for Akwe was engaged when it dawned on the villagers that she was missing. Accusing fingers were thus pointed at Elias and when the angry mob confronted him, he reportedly confessed to having butchered his lover. Cutlass wounds were noticed on his palms apparently as a result of a struggle with the lady.

It is also reported that the culprit confessed that he butchered the lady because she had been scandalizing his name, saying that he has an illicit affair with a married woman and that he has been a notorious killer in the Francophone part of Cameroon.

Angry villagers took him to the village square and set him on fire. He was roasted to death.
