Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga has assembled more than 30 lawyers to argue out his case in the upcoming presidential election petition.

Senior counsel and Siaya County Governor-elect James Orengo will lead the team of advocates and will be assisted by former Attorney-General Amos Wako, who steps in as the legal advisor.

In-coming Kisumu Senator Prof Tom Ojienda and Rarieda Member of Parliament (MP) - elect Otiende Amollo will also be arguing Raila's case before the seven-judge Supreme Court bench.
Odinga's team also Paul Mwangi who represented him during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) case.

Philip Murgor, Pheroze Norwojee, Makueni Governor-elect Mutula Kilonzo and incoming senator Dan Maanzo will be making a case against Deputy President William Ruto's win

Among the issued that the Azimio lawyers will raise include the discrepancies in the presidential vote against the votes cast in other elective seats.

They will also seek to have the election invalidated for being conducted as an event and not as a process and poke holes in the credibility of the final result given the disowning of the same by four commissioners.

Orengo and his colleagues will battle it out with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) counsels led by former Attorney-General Githu Muigai.

Muigai will have the backing of advocates Kamau Karori, Abdikadir Mohamed, Eric Gumbo, Peter Wanyama and Edwin Mukele.

The president-elect , for his defense, has assembled a team of lawyers led by Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia, who granted President Uhuru Kenyatta legal victory in the 20213 election petition.

Ngatia will have the backing of renowned city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, and former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi.

Other lawyers include Ruto's Chief Agent, Prof Kithure Kindiki, Adrian Kamotho and Collins Kiprono.

The Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Martha Koome will have 14 days from the time the petition is filed to deliver a ruling.
