Mauritius arrests ex-finance minister for corruption

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Mauritius arrested former Finance Minister Pravind Jugnauth for corruption on Thursday in connection with the purchase of a private hospital, local media said.

Jugnauth, who is the son of the Indian Ocean island's president, is the second senior official from the Militant Socialist Movement, which pulled out of the coalition government in July, to be arrested in connection with the scandal.
