ALGIERS, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Turmoil-hit Libya has asked Algeria to lead an initiative in the U.N Security Council to lift its recently-slapped measures on Libya, Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci told local daily el-Khabar on Thursday.
"My Libyan counterpart (Musa Kusa) delivered a message to me.... He asked Algeria to lead an initiative to the Security Council to retract some of its sanctions recently imposed on Libya," Medelci said.

He said Kusa is very interested on the Arab League's stance against any foreign meddling into Libya, adding this is an unnegotiable Arab-Algerian stance.
