Obasanjo is alive

Former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo has denied rumours of his death. According to rumours on Monday, Obasanjo was killed by an assassin's bullet shortly after one of his children got wedded last Saturday.

"I understand you are from NEXT, I think you can recognize my voice. I am in my office, which is known as Agbeloba in Abeokuta," Obasanjo said on phone to the news network.

He added: "I thank you for taking the trouble to find out. There is nothing wrong with me, I thank you very much, and must tell you that I am hale and hearty, once again thank you so much for finding out. I am alive and doing well."
