Five miners killed in South Africa mine accident

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said on Wednesday that five workers were killed at Aquarius Platinum Marikana mine in South Africa after a fall of ground.

"There was a fall of ground in which seven workers were trapped, five of them died while two were injured. Investigations will be carried out later," NUM spokesman Lesiba Seshoka told Reuters.
