IRI, Myanmar to expand trade ties

Deputy Foreign Minister of Myanmar, Maung Myint on Tuesday met and conferred with IRI Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in Tehran.

In the meeting Mottaki referred to the two countries stance in rejection of arrogance and injustice, as well as Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and capacities of mutual cooperation in different fields.

Mottaki called for continuous consultation between the two countries in different fields.

The two also discussed educational and trade cooperation issue.

Mottaki urged for formation of joint economic commission, provision of trade facilities and removal of double taxation

Mottaki also said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was ready to receive university students from Myanmar.

Maung Myint for his part expressed the warm greetings of Myanmar foreign minister to Mottaki and underlined his country's willingness for expansion of cultural, political and economic ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also said that his country was eager to expand trade and educational ties with IRI.
