Her Excellency, the vice president and minister of Women's Affairs Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy on Wednesday April 29th received in her office the Taiwanese ambassador to The Gambia, Richard Shih and the executive members of the Operation No Back way to Europe (ONBE).

After a closed-door meeting with VP Njie-Saidy, Ambassador Richard Shih told reporters that they were at State House to officially welcome and include ONBE in their rice extension project. He expressed hope that their cooperation with the organization will bear fruits and will help in the drive to develop the country's agriculture and youth engagement in the sector. Abubacarr Jabbi, the president of ONBE reiterated his organizations readiness to effectively participate in agricultural production.


In another engagement, Vice President Njie-Saidy also received in audience Jimi Awosiki, an official from Insight Communications Limited in Nigeria, one of the largest advertising agencies in West Africa.

Insight Communications Limited was incorporated in 1979 and commenced operations in 1980 as an integrated marketing communications outfit. According to official sources, Insight Communications is today positioned in billings, processes and systems and manpower development.

Speaking to reporters shortly after meeting with VP Njie-Saidy, Awosiki told reporters that he was at State House to introduce his company's brand initiative to the vice president. Once the brand comes into force, he went on, it would accord Gambia the opportunity to be well known around the world.

He further pointed out that business processes in the company are built on the "3-I model" of Information, Inspiration and Imagination, with the process beginning with the gathering and analyzing of all necessary information. Awosiki then thanked the vice president for according him the opportunity to meet her, saying, "she was indeed happy with the information".
