South Africa calls for expansion of all-out relations with Iran

Kuala Lumpur, March 29, IRNA -- South African Parliament Speaker Hon Max Vuyisile Sisulu said on Monday that his country calls for expansion of all-out relations mainly in economic fields with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with First Vice-Speaker of Iran’s Majlis Mohammad-Hassan Abutorabifard on the sidelines of the 122nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Bangkok, Thailand.
He said that Iran plays a leading role in global developments.
He also called for expansion of cooperation between Iranian and South African private sectors.
In the meantime, Hon Max Vuyisile Sisulu extended an invitation to his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani to visit South Africa.
First Vice- Speaker of Iran’s Majlis Mohammad-Hassan Abutorabi-Fard, for his part, underlined that Iran is determined to bolster relations with South Africa.
Iranian nation will never forget anti-apartheid campaign of former South African leader Nelson Mandela, he said.
Abutorabifard also conferred with Uruguayan parliament speaker on expansion of parliamentary relations between the two sides.
Iran has adopted constructive approach toward Latin American countries, he said.
Abutorabifard voiced Iran’s readiness to enhance the level of parliamentary relations with Latin American states and with Uruguay, in particular.
Iran is willing to broaden ties with the countries which have adopted unified stand in dealing with the US unilateralist policy, he said.
Uruguayan parliament speaker, for his part, called for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The 122nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union opened in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 27 for six days.
